Lahainaluna ʻOhana,
We had a great first day with 600+ students today at the Kūlanihākoʻi campus – reconnecting with our kids and starting to resume a sense of normalcy and routine under the circumstances.
The Department recapped the day in this news release: https://bit.ly/3PHbHvL, and posted a short social media video here.
For those who rode the buses from Lahaina, I understand there was overwhelming demand today and the Department apologizes for any inconvenience. Please be assured that the Department is adding extra buses to meet the increase in student registrations.
For Lahainaluna students, starting tomorrow there will be a total of six school buses that will start at Kapalua Airport and will swing down to Whalers Village. Four additional school buses will start at Whalers Village. If you have not signed up for bus service, please complete an application at bit.ly/WestMauiBusApp.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work to ensure a smooth transition for all Lahainaluna students. We appreciate your continued support in these challenging times.
Thank you,
Richard
