September 8th to Honor our Heroes
Aloha Maui,
Last week while we braced for the impacts of Hurricane Lane, Lahaina was unprepared for the massive brushfire. This event has had a devastating effect, but in tragedy, we are rediscovering the strength and true beauty of our community.
Lahainaluna High School would like to show its gratitude to those who have fought so hard to preserve everything that we all hold dear. We wish to honor those who fought to save West Maui- battling the fire, ensuring safe and orderly evacuations, and restoring water and power as quickly as possible.
We invite all those who have given so much of themselves, striving to preserve our way of life, to come and be recognized at the Lahainaluna vs Kamehameha Schools football game at Sue D. Cooley stadium on Saturday September 8th. Game admission is free to those who arrive before 6pm in their work uniform. Please sign in at the main entrance next to the box office.
As part of the recognition for your hard work there will be a photo session, lei ceremony, and complimentary tickets for you and your immediate family from the PTSA to the Lahainaluna Festival I KA NANI O LELE on Saturday September 15th.
The community is invited to bring leis to the game for our heroes. If you cannot make it to the game, you may drop leis off at the Lahainaluna main office no later than 3:45 pm on Friday, September 7.
Mahalo,
